Hihanni Was’te – good morning in my Lakota language. This month’s Lakota word is Bloketu which means summer.
Just an update on our SGU Student Union the project – the completion date has been announced to be mid-August. I work right next door to the project and see daily the progress and I am so excited for its opening. It will be a great asset to SGU, but more importantly to our SGU students.
In May we honored several employees from SGU for their years of dedication to our institution. It is customary to honor our employees with gifts, a meal and most of all a traditional honor song and congratulatory handshake from co-workers.
June 5, 2017 is the beginning of SGU’s summer session. I look forward to that as, it is pretty quiet here on campus as the spring session ended a couple weeks ago.
Once again, I am asking our SGU readers and friends to help me. I need your input. What would you like to me to share with you in my monthly blog? Do you like the pictures, the information or Lakota words?
Our technology department along with Kimm Cox who tries to keep you all posted about the SGU Foundation Office, as well as SGU campus news on Facebook is doing a great job of reporting and sharing. So, readers you can always go to the Sinte Gleska University’s web page for updates, upcoming events and news.
Wopila Tanka! (A big thank you)
