Anpetu Was’te – good morning in the Lakota language. This month’s Lakota word is Ptanyetu - the definition is fall or autumn. As I said in last month’s blog, summer is almost over and fall is around the corner. I look forward to the fall and personally, it is my favorite time of the year.
Well, we just celebrated our 46th Graduation commencement and it was great. We also celebrated our SGU 35th Annual GED commencement. This year we had a total of 69 graduates, which consisted of 5 Masters, 16 B.A.’s, 41 A.A.’s, 9 – 1 year certificates and 14 GED certificates. It was awesome to see so many graduates. I am already looking forward to next year’s commencements.
Along with our graduation, it was also our Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s 142nd annual fair celebration. So, our people and people in our surrounding communities had a lot of fun and exciting things to attend after our big graduation.
The campus is back in session as our fall/winter classes have begun. The campus is hopping and it so great to be able to be a part of the Sinte Gleska University family. We try very hard to help each and every student in the college endeavors.
I wanted to remind all of our readers that the Graduation commencement was live-streamed and you view it on website.
