As always Anpetu Was’te – good morning in the Lakota language. This month’s Lakota word or actually phrase is Maka akan Wowahwala kte in our language means peace on earth. I chose this phrase as it is the holiday season.
We have been busy this past November and are especially busy as we begin December. We had our annual employee, staff, faculty and student thanksgiving dinner on November 16, 2017 and it was wonderful. It is always a joy to have our SGU family all come together and celebrate and be thankful for our health and for the year.
As I write, I am full of anticipation and eager to continue with our fund raising efforts for our Annual Elder’s Dinner to be held on Friday, December, 8th, 2017. That is one of my favorite fund raising endeavors as it is so overwhelmingly gratifying to see the looks on our elder’s faces with all of the Christmas festivities.
I want to remind you all to be sure and check out of SGU Foundation Giving Page https://www.facebook.com/donate/379541005801050/540989042914576/ and remember that we also have our own Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sgufoundation/ and don’t forget my blog.
I will be looking forward to sharing SGU information with you all in the 2018 year. A happy and safe holiday season to you all!
Wopila Tanka!
(A big thank you)
