Anpetu Was’te – good morning in the Lakota language. This month’s Lakota word is I’sta which means eye in our Lakota language. I chose this word because last week we hosted - Native Eyes Project, June 4-9th where over 1,300 people were screened during the free eye clinics conducted at our Multipurpose Building. The sponsoring organization, Artists for World Peace, announced that this effort will continue for the next three years. This was one of the most remarkable events that has happened here on the Rosebud for some time. Please go our website for some of the live streaming that was done throughout this event.
Along with this great event, we here at Sinte have started the summer session classes and we are eagerly awaiting the move in of our spectacular new Mike Benge Student Union. The actual completion of the building is done, but we are still doing some installation of the kitchen and finalizing the ordering of our furnishings. So, if you feel obliged to help us in any way in our endeavor, please, go to the Giving page on our SGU website.
I want to remind as I always do, go to our web site and check out the current events, news and upcoming events and you can also
go to the youtube channel:https://www.youtube.com/user/sintegleskautube/featured .
And, as I stated above please remember that you can also check our SGU Foundation Giving Page http://www.sgufoundation.org/ and remember that we also have our own Facebook page and my blog.
See you next month and please remember to watch for Sinte Gleska Updates and News on our Website.
Wopila Tanka!
(A big thank you)
